Special attack[edit | edit source]
The 3rd age axe has a special attack called Lumber Up, which it shares with the dragon, infernal, and crystal axe. The attack provides a visible +3 boost to Woodcutting costing 100% special attack energy, although it cannot be used without the 65 Attack required to wield the axe. This boost does not stack with other visible boosts. Using Preserve can increase the duration by 50%.
Note that any levels boosted above 99 with the special attack will be treated as 99; therefore, players will start to receive diminishing returns with the special attack at level 97 and 98, with there being no value in using the special attack at level 99.[1]
