Graduate Assistant for NCAA Compliance
Sacred Heart University, A NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of compliance graduate assistant (GA), to work during the 2023-2024 academic year. The GA will assist with day-to-day operations of the Office of Athletic Compliance.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Sacred Heart University, a NCAA Division I member of the Northeast Conference in Fairfield, CT. is accepting applications for the position of compliance graduate assistant. This position reports directly to the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. This position will assist with day-to-day operations of the Office of Athletics Compliance.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the compliance office.
- Creating, coordination, and review of all official visit documentation.
- Auditing recruiting and monthly practice/playing logs.
- Processing all roster additions/deletes in a timely manner and accurately updating all necessary sources.
- Help in creation of new NLI’s and aid agreements for 2023-2024 newcomers.
- Assist with processing of incoming/outgoing transfer requests and tracers.
- Assist with initial eligibility.
- Review complimentary ticket requests for Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Ice Hockey.
- Develop an understanding of NCAA D1 legislation, Northeast Conference, and other sport specific conferences.
- Research NCAA information regarding interpretations and file documents accordingly.
- Compliance software maintenance (student-athlete forms, coaching activities, coding).
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Admission and matriculation into a Sacred Heart University graduate program. Enrolled in a one- or two-year graduate program.
- Possess strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to take initiative, complete time-sensitive tasks, maintain confidential information and multi-task.
- Ability to listen well and work effectively with diverse groups.
- Strong interest in working directly with student-athletes in a student services capacity.
- Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms.
- Excellent presentation skills for speaking to small or large groups.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail to detail, integrity, and a willingness to exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, NEC and Sacred Heart University rules and regulations.
Unusual Working Conditions

Student-Athlete Engagement Specialist - Academic Services & Student Development

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Sacred Heart University, a NCAA Division I member of the Northeast Conference in Fairfield, CT. is accepting applications for the position of Student-Athlete Engagement Specialist-Academic Services & Student-Athlete Development-Graduate Assistant. This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics-Academic Services & Student Development. This position will assist student-athletes in pursuit of their educational, career health & wellness goals by developing and assisting with plans to increase retention and graduation rates.
- Organize and assist with student-athlete study halls by coordinating, and recording hours.
- Plan and coordinate academic support by scheduling academic enrichment specialists as needed to maximize their use and university academic support resources.
- Assisting with student-athlete advisory committee, community service initiatives, administrative, operational support and internal/external multimedia communications of support services programming.
- Acting as primary liaison for teams as assigned. Schedule and conduct academic support meetings, progress reports and monitor academic performance during the semester.
- Life Skills Program: Responsible for creating, planning, and presenting workshops during each semester. Communicate with Jandrisevits Learning Center, Library Services-Writing/Online resources, Career Services, and other on-campus offices in order to facilitate guest speakers, joint workshops initiatives, etc.
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Enrolled as a graduate student at Sacred Heart University in the first year of a graduate program.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills with ability to listen well and work effectively with diverse groups.
- High energy and a strong interest in working directly with student-athletes in a student services capacity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills for speaking to small or large groups.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, Social Media, and experience in Excel preferred.
- Willingness to be flexible with scheduling and possess a strong work ethic.

Athletics Operations
Assists with day-to-day operations, game administration, equipment management and special projects for varsity athletics.
- Full-Time (35 hours per week)
- Compensation: $15K waiver, $11,280 stipend
Dates
August 1, 2024-May 31, 2025 (One-year contract with possibility of extending to two years)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform set up, maintenance and cleanup activities for game day.
- Assist with game day administration for athletic contests as assigned. Plan, organize and coordinate several components of events such as spectator transportation, hospitality tailgates and stadium clean up. Assist with event staff.
- Serve as game day administrator for varsity sports. Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the mitigation of problems and situations that may arise during events including media access, concession operations, parking and security. Supervise security, parking and event personnel.
- Work with equipment, material, supplies and services for use in facilities (e.g., padding, goals, netting, etc. and game day. Staff equipment room and coordinate with equipment room staff on home and away game needs.
- In conjunction with Associate AD, manage transportation logistics and paperwork for all varsity teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Preferred to have an athletic background or understanding
- Experience in a college athletic department is a plus
- Must be well organized to be successful in the position
- A valid driver's license is required
Unusual Working Conditions
Requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently to move objects. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Graduate Assistant forEquestrian Team
Assist coaching staff with the day to day operation of running an NCAA Division Iprogram.

To assistwith the year-round development and implementation of Strength and Conditioning for assigned varsity sports as well as assist in all areas of the Strength and Conditioning Department.

- Assistin areas of coaching Strength and Conditioning with all 32 varsity sports
- Daily cleaning of all equipment in Pitt Center weight room
- Assist with scheduling usage of teams and clubs in the Pitt Center weight room
- Tracking and data entry for all 32 varsity sports
- Program development for assigned areas by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelor degree in Exercise Science or related field
- Experience in a college Strength and Conditioning setting
- CSCS through the NSCA or SCCC through CSCCa
- CPR/AED certified
Equipment RoomGraduate Assistant
- Full-time (35 hours/week)

- Assist with the daily operations of all four equipment rooms
- Oversee the budget and ordering process for all assigned sports
- Ensure that the practice and game day needs of all assigned sports are taken care of
- Assist with the daily operation of football including traveling with the football team
- Assist with the supervision of student managers
- Adhere to all department, University, NCAA and conference policies and procedures
