Which Evoker spec is best? ›

Devastation is the Evoker spec to play for leveling, and it is very strong for questing.

Best Leveling Professions for Evokers in Dragonflight

Tailoring profession. Skinning. Again, it's probably best to concentrate on leveling these once you've reached maximum level. For players who don't have professions to start, we strongly recommend picking up two Gathering professions.

Important Facts About Dracthyr and Evokers

Only the new Dracthyr race can be Evokers -- and Evoker is the only class choice available to Dracthyr at this point. Since Evoker powers use inherent abilities of the Dragonflights, it makes sense that this would remain a race-bound class.

Fighting from moderate range, Evokers unleash scorching breath attacks and use the power of the red and blue dragonflight to overwhelm foes. Evokers enjoy superior mobility stemming from their draconic powers, soaring over the battlefield and raining death from above.

Augmentation Evoker is a dps class that deal damage by buffing others' damage, it is not the fact that they only deal 30% dps of what a pure dps should, it is how the other 70% works.

With this knowledge in mind, it's clear that Leatherworking and Skinning are the perfect professions for your adventures as a Dracthyr Evoker in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. Skinning makes it easy for you to earn money, and, when combined with Leatherworking, it allows you to build up your personal gear.

Certain professions are more lucrative. S-Tier professions for gold making include Enchanting, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, and Tailoring. A-Tier includes Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, and Fishing.

Weaknesses. Squishy - Evoker is weak in the defensive department compared to other ranged DPS classes. We only have 1 real defensive, which is Obsidian Scales.

In terms of class fantasy, it can't be beat. You get to run around Azeroth, tame all the exotic creatures, turn them into pets, and make them fight for you while you stand back and shoot a rifle.

Evoker is a mail-wearing Healer or RDPS. They can equip Daggers, Staves, Fist Weapons, One-Handed Swords, One-Handed Axes, and One-Handed Maces. They can also use off-hand items, but cannot dual wield.

Devastation Evoker Strengths and Weaknesses

Devastation is very proficient at damaging new targets and absorb shields. A good Evoker is always looking for allies to Rescue, opportunities to deal heavy priority damage to new targets with Mastery: Giantkiller, and shields to damage with Unravel.

The spec is not as easy to play as some other healing specs but if you put time and effort into learning the class it can do very good numbers.

The Devastation Specialization is the best spec for evoker leveling.

Evokers will have access to two specializations: Devastation and Preservation. All Dracthyr have some DPS caster abilities and some healing abilities, but one spec will be more capable in one area than the other.

Augmentation Evoker is highly viable option for leveling, with many tools to control enemies and survive difficult encounters.
