Q: How long have you been working at Central and what positions have you held?
A: This is my 30th year, 37th year teaching, seven years before that [Central]. I’ve been in the math department the whole time. So, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra two, PreCalculus, Applied math, Intro to math, math support, all those classes.
Q: What are your plans after you retire?
A: Lots of travel. I love to travel. I love to bicycle. I have a couple of trips, one in Michigan. This year and then I’m going with my friend from Minnesota here to Chicago in September. That’ll be my first September I’m not going to be in school for my whole life, well, since I was in preschool, so it’s gonna be different, you know, to not be in school. I also have this dream to do 12 part time jobs, one per month.
Q: What are you going to miss most about Central?
A: The people, my colleagues, are unbelievable. I loved working with my colleagues and getting sharper just talking about teaching and the inner department talk. Just hanging out with each other with the same goals, It’s been just a joy. Our administration has been awesome. It’s an administration that asks for our input so when you get that you feel empowered.
