How did the margarita come to be?

It’s hard to say exactly who created the margarita. Stories of its creation are as numerous as the variations of the drink itself. It is safe to say the drink was originally created in the early 1940s. It may have evolved from The Daisy, a classic co*cktail popular around that time. I used pamplemousse instead of triple sec but the ratio is perfection. I've never gone w the "over blend" direction but did this time and it is perfection. I'm going to try with red wine and strawberries, see if I can get a good sangria margarita version. Thanks for this!

Is frozen limeade the same thing as the Bacardi's can frozen margarita mix?

      Reply

      • Angela Lietzke

It's similar. You can use frozen Bacardi margarita mix in place of the Minute Maid limeade. Keep in mind, the limeade is 12 ounces and the Bacardi can is only 10 ounces, so you may want to adjust the amount of tequila and triple sec.

      • Vee Jones

Bacardi margarita mix also costs twice as much as the MinuteMaid.
