I hate to put holes in the fuse for negligible improvement. Gliderfly I had a G-RX8 where I didn't realize one of the antennas had become partially disconnected from the circuit board. The result was 2 or 3 telemetry lost/telemetry recovered warnings which I unfortunately shrugged off. During the next launch I lost control and destroyed my sailplane. I had been flying FrSky for about 4 years and this was the first time I had EVER gotten a telemetry lost/telemetry recovered message while in flight, but since I had heard the message while watching some guys race quads before I assumed it was something that just happens sometimes. I don't think you should ever get that message. An occasional RSSI signal strength warning maybe. Antennas at 90 degrees to each other is good advice, and if you've got a carbon fiber fuselage, get the ends on the outside. All of my antennas are inside on my balsa and fiberglass fuselages with no problems. |

There have been some causes that we have seen that are not fatal for control such as the faulty component in some G-RX8 receivers and warnings coming from attempting to operate both internal and external 2.4gHz RF modules simultaneously. As you found though it is unwise just to assume that the cause is one of those benign ones. |

I was getting the exact same behavior with my X9Lite controlling a motor glider equipped with a G-RX8 - both were on ACCST RF FCC version 2.1.0. I was also occasionally experiencing a loss of control and getting a RSSI signal loss messages during these brief encounters. This unwelcome and disconcerting behavior was happening several times per flight. This was happening at close range (less than 100 m) and both antennae were hanging outside the fuse. I further tested this indoors with telemetry logging leaving both the Tx and Rx turned on for a couple hours with the Tx and Rx about 10 feet apart - the same behavior was happening. The log data revealed that I was getting failsafes at the same times I was hearing the telemetry and signal lost warning messages. Note that all these event were short lived - less than a second. This is indeed a serious issue! The good News: |

For example, on May 1, in a flight of about 53 minutes to a maximum distance of about 400m, I logged 29 failsafes. That FrSky continued to offer 2.1.0 for the G-RX8 for download after the problem was discovered and fixed is questionable in my view. The above also applies to 2.1.0 for the G-RX6 and the RX6R. |

landru Registered User | The ones from Amazon will fit but the ones from GetFPV will not. The G-RX8 uses the smaller IPEX4 connector, which is also known as MHF4. The larger connector, IPEX1, is also known as U.Fl or occasionally simply as IPEX. There's a picture that compares the two in the Amazon item. |

seng30904 Registered User | I have a few of these GRX8's. Im setting up new sailplane, and need all 8 channels. I have tried numerous times to get the receiver to bind in 8 channel (PWM) mode, but keep getting the blue led on, indicating its in Sbus mode on channel 7 & 8. From what I undertstand, plugging a battery into the receiver while holding the bind button down, with no jumpers attached to the signal pins of channel 1 & 2 should get me to PWM mode on all 8 channels. Only while binding with a jumper on the signal pins of channel 1 & 2 will place the rx into Sbus mode on channel 7 &8. |
