The concert is also made possible by grants from: the National Park Service, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Department of the Army, General Dynamics, 84 Lumber, PBS and public television stations nationwide.

A tradition unlike anything else on television, the 90-minute broadcast the National Memorial Day concert takes us back to the real meaning of the holiday through a unique blend of dramatic storytelling, documentary footage and uplifting music.

PBS will broadcast the 2024 National Memorial Day Concert live at 8 p.m. ET, on Sunday, and repeat the program at 9:30 p.m. ET. PBS stations from around the country will carry the 90-minute concert; check here to find showtimes for your local station.

Memorial Day, a federal holiday held the last Monday in May, is the nation's foremost annual day to mourn and honor its deceased service men and women. Originally called Decoration Day, it was formalized by a "Memorial Day Order" issued by Grand Army of the Republic Commander-in-Chief John A. Logan in 1868.
