Businesses don't hire researchers to tell them what they want to hear.Businesses hire researchers to tell them the truth.• 𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘴—𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴When a stakeholder asks, "Can you validate this idea?" 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 saying is, "Can you please tell me I'm right?"Invariably, this leads to either:1. Accepting any evidence the researcher presents that supports their thinking2. Refuting any evidence the researcher presents that goes against their thinkingIt's Confirmation Bias 101.But that's not what research is for.Research is in the business of helping businesses make more informed—and less risky—business decisions. To do this, researchers must:1. Follow the facts wherever they go2. Report the truth, no matter whatThe question "Can you validate this?" is loaded.Research isn't in the business of validation.Research is in the business of testing.Speak the truth, even if it isn’t what others want to hear.~fin~=====👋 I'm Ari...I teach researchers how to deliver insights using strategic communication—and, in the process, increase their value so they earn the salary, influence, and recognition they deserve.

The eye-opener discussion!I feel pain to see the sad plight of essential requirements for the post of Research assistant and associates for an incentive that can be as low as ₹18k to a maximum cap of ₹45k (can have more salary bracket but limited opportunities). The requirements include NET or Ph.D. or sometimes even ask for experience along with knowledge of Python, Numpy,SPSS,AI etc.Dear recruiters and HR dept. everyone has a family to maintain, a monthly expense and an aspiration that is dying day by day due to such dual standards for an aspirant who has earned his degree after so many a hurdles and if not everything than atleast the time spent in academics must be taken in consideration. School 12 yearsUG 3-4 yearsPG. 2 yearsPhD. 4-5 yearsand after all this 20-22 years of perseverance, resilience and consistency a salary package of 18k.Really????#sensitive #issue #phd #researchers #researchassistant #researchassociate #salarynegotiation #ugc #hr #hiring #firing #hrdept #industry #industryinsights #analysis #analysisparalysis #viral #cfbr
