This year, Google Trends shared a map with USA TODAY of uniquely searched Christmas cookies by state in 2023. The map shows cookies that were overrepresented in a state compared to the country as a whole.
The most searched holiday cookie in Texas was the classic Italian Christmas Cookie. It was also a top search for 14 other states.
Neighboring states had a craving for a different kind of cookie. In Oklahoma, people are searching for Ricotta Christmas Cookies, New Mexico searched for Mexican Christmas Cookies, Louisiana had Pinwheel Christmas Cookies on the mind and Arkansas was looking for Kitchen Sink Christmas Cookies.
While many states searched for cultural Christmas cookies like Italian and Mexican varieties, others opted for the ever-popular gingerbread cookies orpeanut butter blossoms.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease your baking sheets.
To make the cookies:Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs, add vanilla and dry ingredients.
