Before TikTok, the most desired houses were the Old Row houses (Phi Mu, Alpha Chi Omega, Chi Omega, TriDelt, KD, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma). They were all known for being "Top Tier". Especially Phi Mu. However, TikTok has popularized Zeta Tau Delta, which is New Row.

Old Row is known for its content related to college culture, fraternity and sorority life, humor, and Southern traditions. The name "Old Row" itself may be a nod to traditional or historic fraternity and sorority housing often located on the "old row" of buildings on college campuses.

There are four major sororities, all of which were established in early twentieth century, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (Howard University, 1908), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (Howard University, 1913), Zeta Phi Beta Sorority (Howard University, 1920), and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority (Butler University, 1922).

The tier has everything to do with how picky it can be about members. A “top” tier sorority can basically pick just who they want among pledges, while a “low” tier sorority takes the leftovers.

Tri delt has been one of-if not THE best sorority at Bama. It's incredibly exclusive, thus less “popular” than it should be. It's an honor if you get into this house. Not many can!

In all honesty, the most underrated sorority. From what I have seen as someone not in greeklife at UA, they are all kind, gorgeous, have true sisterhood, and incredibly involved on campus and in UA sports. Most importantly, they definitely know how to have a fun and wild time. You wish you could party with a bama DZ.

The Alpha Upsilon chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was chartered on The University of Alabama campus on September 9, 1924. The Alpha Upsilon chapter is recognized by the national organization as one of the strongest and most outstanding chapters in the nation.
