The Total Joint Experience (9:30am - 10:30am & 1:00pm - 2:00pm)
The free seminar, given by Dosher Orthopedic Nurse Navigator Chelsea Beard, RN, BSN, will help patients know what to expect in several aspects of care with regard to preparing for joint replacement surgery.It is a requirement for all patients who are scheduled for a joint replacement surgery at Dosher Hospital to attend due to the numerous benefits it offers. Data shows that joint class participants experience a decrease in length of stay, GI issues, pain, anxiety, VTE prevention, reduction of errors, and overall better outcomes.Our aim is to ensure that all patients undergoing total joint surgery at Dosher are fully informed and prepared for the procedure, and we believe that Joint Class is an essential part of achieving this goal.In this class, you will become familiar with this hospital and have your questions answered by a highly experienced member of the Dosher OR team. Patients are encouraged to bring a spouse, friend, or coach, especially one who will be supporting them through surgery and recovery from their total joint replacement.
