FAQs | Group Exercise | SRC | USU (2024)

Group Exercise (GX) classes are available to all SRC members and their sponsored guests. Dependent members and sponsored dependent guests ages 16 to 18 may also participate in any available class. However, dependents under the age of 16 are not authorized to enter into the studio while a Group Exercise class is in session, even if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Any non-SRC member interested in attending a class must be sponsored by an SRC member and purchase a $10 guest pass at the front desk. The sponsored guest must be present with the SRC member at the time of entry. Exception: Lunchtime Express for CSUN Faculty & Staff.

All Group Exercise classes are complementary with the purchase of anySRC membership. See available membership options. Sponsored guests of SRC members are also able to participate in any available Group Exercise class once they have purchased a guest pass at the front desk.

All the necessary equipment is provided for each class, with the exception of hand wraps for boxing classes. No. Each class is led by a certified instructor and designed to accommodate all fitness levels and abilities. However, the SRC strongly recommends that you consult with a physician before beginning any exercise program. You should be in good physical condition and be able to participate in the exercises conducted in the class.

If you are new to class or need special accommodations, we highly recommend you arrive to the studio 10 minutes prior and speak with the instructor in person. Additionally if you need assistance with equipment, such as wrapping your hands or setting up your cycling bike, we also recommend to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class.

If you have opted-in to receive notifications from MINDBODY at the time your account was created, once you have been registered for a Group Exercise class, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address associated with the account. To re-enroll in the class you will be required to wait in the standby line for potential remaining availability. Passes will not be issued once the class has started,no exceptions.

Although online registration is available to SRC members, we require every participant to check in at the Total Training Zone desk to retrieve a GX class pass before arriving to the studio. This process allows us to have accurate attendance records and also identifies available space for those waiting in the standby line.

Your GX class pass should be given to the instructor prior to the start of the class. Make sure to keep the pass in a secure place. If you happen to lose the GX class pass before arriving to the class, please notify the staff located at the Total Training Zone desk. They will be happy to issue a replacement.

No. Passes will not be issued once the class has started,no exceptions. Additionally, all participants need to arrive to the studio with their GX class pass by the class start time.
