Hell's Kitchen Minneapolis — FAQs (2024)

Is this Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen?

Nope; and you won’t find Chef Ramsay here. We’re an independent restaurant in Minneapolis, MN called Hell’s Kitchen, and we’re completely unaffiliated with both the TV show Hell’s Kitchen as well as Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in Las Vegas. (We actually opened our doors in 2002, years before the show was ever even conceived!) In fact, for our 10th anniversary, Gordon Ramsay even sent us an appropriately cheeky congratulations/apology video.

If you have concerns about the TV show, please do not write to us, as we have no way of helping you. Instead, we recommend you contact the producers at Fox. If you have questions, comments, kudos, or concerns about Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Las Vegas, you can find more informationabout contacting their staff.

“Hell’s Kitchen” sounds a little… PG-13. Can I bring my kids?

Rugrats are always welcome here! We’ve got kids’ menus for every meal, including a few of our most popular dishes in kid-friendly portions. Most children love our fun and quirky aesthetic, but if you’re worried about how your child will react, feel free to look through our spaceyourself!

I want Brunch after my Sunday church service – will I feel welcome here?

When we first opened, everybodytold us, “Don’t do it!” They said we’d have protesters outside our door if we dared to open a restaurant called “Hell’s Kitchen.” But the truth is, we’ve had the privilege of serving church-goers for years, and we’ve found that everyone from regular parishioners to purple-robed Episcopalian bishops appreciate our damn good food as well as our cheeky sense of humor. Heck, we’ve even had gospel choirs singing for their meals.

And of course, our open arms and open doors extend to everybody – we enthusiastically welcome diners of any religion, race, gender, orientation, ability, or belief system.

Do you have parking? access to public transportation?

Yup! Our parking ramp (just $5 after 4pm and on weekends/holidays) is right past our street entrance; look for the huge flashing red awning on S 9th Street. If you’re a public transit rider, we’re only a half-block from Nicollet Mall’s Metro Transit bus stops and four blocks from the Light Rail’s Government Plaza Station on 5th Street.

I heard hell's kitchen is underground... so is it wheelchair-accessible?

Absolutely; our entire restaurant is wheelchair-accessible!If you’re entering from the street, take the elevator you’ll see just inside the 9th St. entrance doors. If you park in the adjacent ramp, take the elevator straight down to Hell (LL). Of course, if somebody in your party uses a wheelchair or needs other special accommodations, let us know in your reservation notes so we can be as accommodating as possible.

Do you have vegetarian/vegan-friendly menu options?

We have many menu items that are vegetarian by design, or can be made vegetarian through simple substitutions or omissions. For vegans, we are proud to offer the Impossible Burger, which can easily be made vegan by request. Feel free to look through our menus, and ask your server to help navigate our vegetarian and vegan options.

Many diners with gluten sensitivities compliment us for the wide range of items that are gluten-free-friendly or can be made gluten-free-friendly upon request, as well as for having a dedicated gluten-free fryer. Please be upfront with your server about any allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions and we’ll be happy to accommodate you as best we can. Feel free to look through our menus, where gluten-friendly dishes are clearly labeled!

Please note:We are NOTan allergen-free or gluten-free facility, so please use your best judgment based on your particular sensitivity level towards certain ingredients (particularly peanuts—we make our small-batch Peanut Butter in-house every day and have no way of eliminating peanut dust in the air).

everyone tells me i need to make a reservation. c'mon, that can't be true, is it?

Well… yes and no. We always leave room for spontaneous walk-ins, but we do recommend you make a reservation online to waltz right past anyone who might be stuck waiting for a table when you arrive.

I heard you have live music! when can i come see the bands play?

We have live music in our Underground Dining Room during Saturday and Sunday brunch services (10am-1pm) and Saturday evenings from 6pm-9pm. You may browse our full music schedule. Live music is only in our Underground Dining Room, so when making a reservation, write “LIVE MUSIC” into the special requests box. Because we get extremely busy, we can’t make any promises, but will certainly do our best to seat you in the proper room. We currently do not offer live dinner music outside of Saturday nights, but we hope we can bring that back in the future!
