Do you have to refrigerate butter pecan moonshine? ›

Storing opened flavored moonshine in the refrigerator prolongs its shelf life. The refrigerator temperatures slow down when the sugars and added flavors go bad. Unopened flavored moonshine can last for years, un-refrigerated and away from sunlight.

50 cl, 64% Ole Smoky is a Tennessee distillery that has impressed us with their quality moonshine and flavoured whiskey releases. This bottling kicks things up a notch however, coming in at a whopping 64% ABV, or 128 proof.

Can you drink our Butter Pecan moonshine straight? Absolutely.

It is preferable to consume any unsealed bottles of moonshine right away. Moonshine has a longer shelf life than other simple spirits, lasting up to six months after opening. However, once a bottle of moonshine is opened, the shelf life is only 2-3 years.

It all depends on the temperature. 100 Proof moonshine will freeze at -25.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Our 128 Proof Blue Flame can be frozen, but it would require being stored at -43.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

It's easy to get drunk on moonshine quickly, since it's so strong. Try to limit yourself to 1 drink per hour if you're drinking moonshine.

Homemade pecan butter will stay good for at least a couple of weeks at room temp. And, about 5-6 weeks in the fridge.

Do you have to refrigerate nut butters after opening? Storing our butters in the fridge will prolong their quality, but it makes them hard to spread. Unrefrigerated, they will harden over time due to the naturally occurring oil. We suggest storing in a cool dark place for easiest use.
