Giada De Laurentiis has been gracing our television screens for years. She first grew interested in food on her grandfather’s movie set.
She comes from a family in the film industry. Her mother was an actress, her father was an actor and producer, and her grandfather was a filmmaker. She first realized she had a passion for food while working the catering truck on the set of one of the movies her grandfather produced. It was the only aspect of the business that she liked.
She got her culinary training in Paris.
She studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris to pursue her passion for cooking and strengthen her culinary skills. After returning to the U.S., she worked as a pastry chef at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant, Spago. She also created her own catering company based in Los Angeles (where she grew up) called GDL Foods.
